In his next outing as the rogue cop, Harry Callahan comes down on the side of the system (sort of). One critic suggested that Magnum Force was an apology for Dirty Harry. Leone was quoted as saying “De Niro suffers, Eastwood yawns.” I have no idea of how Leone meant that but Eastwood reportedly felt Leone didn't think much of his acting ability.
